Mide Ojo | Principal Dentist
I am Mide Ojo (full name Olumide) and the owner of Refresh dental health. I am a general dentist with a huge passion for restoring smiles in a relaxed friendly environment. I qualified in 2005 from the University of Newcastle Upon Tyne with Distinction in my Dental degree.
My purpose is not just to care for your teeth but to look after you as a whole person just as if you were a member of my own family, keeping you healthy and happy.
With my years' of experience in general, cosmetic and surgical dentistry I can diagnose early, care for and when necessary treat dental patients. From general health dentistry through to cosmetic treatments such as tooth whitening and using white fillings or veneers to repair broken teeth.
Also surgical procedures such as implants, sedation techniques for anxious patients, facial aesthetic dentistry and orthodontics (tooth straightening) and tooth straightening procedures, all in a relaxed and pain-free environment.
I continued my education in several specialist fields training extensively in the UK, Europe and the USA. I am a national lecturer for CFAST orthodontic systems, teaching other dentists countrywide, regularly writing articles for scientific journals and sitting on the editorial board. I am a full member of the British Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and the Royal College of Surgeons London. As a team, we strive constantly for self-improvement by attending further training and education across the UK and abroad.
I was part of the team winning Best UK Dental Practice 2016 and voted finalist in the best young dentist across the UK twice in succession 2015 & 2016.
I have a passion for dental education and raising awareness of oral health and its importance on our overall health. I have given talks at schools locally and across the country. So, look out for Refresh dental health at a school near you soon.
Outside of work, I spend time with my wife Ife, and two young daughters Tiwa and Simi who are both very excited as Daddy’s practice is on the way home from school/nursery! I played football to a very high standard but in later years have moved onto more sedate sports like golf and squash playing regularly at a local club.
